what is a hip flask?

A hip flask is an easy to carry container that is used for transporting and consuming alcohol, traditionally whiskey or brandy. The primary use of a hip flask is to discretely and conveniently transport alcoholic beverages, as opposed to several cans or bottles. It can conveniently fit the pocket and ideal for those looking to discretely stash their spirit of choice in order to indulge in a drink wherever they may be.

Though these nifty flasks are believed by many to have originated in Europe, they date back centuries in areas like Tibet where they were originally used with common spices such as salt and tea. Flasks first became popular among richer British aristocrats where it was more convenient—and more "stately"—than carrying multiple glass bottles.

Traditionally, the size of a hip flask ranges from 0.375L-0.75L and is made from stainless steel or silver, which helps disguise the smell of alcoholic beverages even further. Each flask is complete with a screw top lid that adds protection against leakage when not being filled: some designs even come with a handy drinking cup!

In modern day society lap flasks can be enjoyed by people of all lifestyles; from the partygoers looking for an extra drink at the bar, all the way up to hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who tend to spend long periods of time away from civilization without access to readily available refreshments!
